Harry Potter Exhibition Tour in Cologne:
Hello Everyone,
I was very happy when i've watched an advertising in television that the Harry Potter Exhibition Tour comes to Germany from october 2014 to march 2015.
I've told my friend to book a ticket at 11th october, because october 10th was her birthday. So i was firstly a bit surprised, that the tickets for adults are a bit pricey. You have to pay 29,95€ for an adult and 23,95€ for children, students, etc. So i've expected a lot at this point and was excited too.
On the day we've went to cologne at the museum was easy to find, but we had a bit problems with the train and came 15 minutes later than our date. But when we arrived we saw a huge line, waiting to enter to the HP tour. So we asked where to stand for our date at 5pm at they told us there is still a line for it and we've waited over 45 minutes to enter to the real tour.
There was a Dolores Umbridge cosplayer who walked outside the line and told a few people how to behave and look for the tour and stuff. It was so funny so she was like the actor in the movie. I've heard that she told the boy who stood in front of us, that it would be more polite to dress up a bit nicer and she wouldn't want to see he is wearing a cap and having chewing gum in the mouth :D
So after a while Umbridge went to us and told us that she liked how i've dressed myself for the tour and complimented both of us that our outfit is very classy and beautiful *^*
Before we entered to a seperate room, we've got some scarfes and a wand and had the opportunity to shoot a little photo that we can pick up after the tour. We choosed the slytherin scarf (what else haha)
and Umbridge said 'very good choice, i like you guys' :)
When we've entered to that seperate room and we saw the seat and a actor from the tour who hold the sorting hat. We had there the chance to take a seat there and the hat would tell us in which house we belong. The actor chosed three of us and of of them was my friend who belongs to slytherin :D
Then we went to another room and there where 8 screens with the movie posters on each of them. Suddenly a theme from the Harry Potter movie started and the screens showed us a little complilation trailer of all movies. The emotions came back and i've remembered than i was 12 and watched the very early two movies. So after this a running train came on the screen and a door opened to the real tour. We saw first a part of the train that was used in the movie. Then we saw a lot of original costumes which was worn by the actors in the movie. It fascinated me to see at most all the lovely details on each piece. My absolutly favourite costume was the prom dress from Hermine. The colours and cut was just so fairy and pretty.
The 'activities' where we could take a part were just a few. We could 'repot' mandrakes and pitch a Quidditch Quaffle Ball in 3 different distant goals and unfortunately thats it.
At least i feel a bit disappointed that the tour was so short and expensive for the things you can see there or do. And even if you want buy the photo that was made at the beginning was 18€ for only one. I think they had give the photo for free for the visitors, because i've went to lots of anime conventions which were highly visited, and they always gave us the picture for free.
I think the tour remunerate more, if you are a huge Harry Potter fan and just want to see the costumes in real life but for all others it doesn't really worth for the price. Even the merchandise in the shop were very expensive. So i've talked with some other visitores and they told me they was disappointed too and read before on the internet that a lot of people complained about it.
All in all i can say, the tour had positive and negative sides but still interesting to visit.
I've uploaded a vlog on my youtube channel where you can see the whole tour in a video and it would be great if you can check it out and like it ♥
Thanks for reading! :)
Kisses ♥♥
